General Atomics AeroTec Systems Expands Management Team

General Atomics AeroTec Systems GmbH (GA-ATS) announces an important change in its management team.

Effective April 1, 2026, Craig Simpson assumes the position of Managing Director at GA-ATS. The experienced aviation expert brings over 40 years of industry experience in aircraft structures and aircraft manufacturing.

Since 2019, Craig Simpson has served as Operations Director at General Atomics in Spanish Fork, Utah, where he is responsible for manufacturing operations across all GA-ASI programs. His career encompasses various leadership positions as well as pioneering work in component development and aircraft manufacturing. He has been working for the General Atomics Group for nearly 15 years.

At GA-ATS, Craig Simpson will focus on operational processes and optimizations  and strengthening manufacturing capabilities for the versatile multi-role aircraft Do228 NXT. His leadership approach is based on team empowerment, fostering innovation as well as continuous process optimization.

Harald Robl, who has successfully led GA-ATS over the past five years, will now focus on his role as CEO of the General Atomics Europe Group. In this capacity, he will drive the strategic development of the entire General Atomics Europe Group.
